Orbs are unit-equipable items that can enhance units with a plethora of effects and can be obtained in many different ways. These ways include completing the Extreme difficulty of Trials, completing Challenges, and most notably, crafting them using Materials.
Certain Orbs are able to be purchased with Gems, ignoring their crafting requirements. For each Orb, players are only able to have a maximum of 1 copy of it. How to Equip/Unequip Orbs in ASTD
To equip Orbs, first select the “Orbs” button located on the left side of the player UI. To assign an Orb to a unit slot, select the desired Orb. Players are then presented with the option to assign the Orb to a unit slot. To assign the Orb, select the desired unit slot to place it in and it will be done.

To unequip an Orb, select the desired Orb that is already equipped to a unit slot. Upon doing so, the Orb is unequipped from the previously assigned unit slot, and can be reassigned appropriately.

NOTE: Character Orbs
While some Orbs can be equipped by any unit, most Orbs can only be used by a certain character. If the Orb is not equipped on that character, the Orb’s effects will not work. The character required to use the Orb is stated in said Orb’s description if applicable.

ASTD Orb Material Farming Place
The Orb Material Farming Place allows players to obtain Materials, items that can be crafted into Orbs only available in the Orb Crafting Shop. Certain materials are required for specific orbs, which means players have to go through multiple games of this mode to acquire even one desired Orb. However, despite the tediousness of this process, orbs are worth farming for since they greatly increase the stats of units.
TIPS & STRATEGIES
Be cautious: enemies start with a base higher health than in Infinite mode. It is recommended that players bring an appropriate starting unit to handle early-game.
Be prepared: Bring meta units to maximize both damage output and material gain.
Progressing far has its benefits: This mode counts toward the Infinite daily mission, and will also give players EXP units at the same rate as normal Infinite mode (1 EXP unit every 10 waves of progression).

ASTD Orb Crafting Shop
The Orb Crafting Shop is a place where players must go to be able to craft orbs. The building is located near the entrance to the Orb Material Farming Place, where players are able to obtain materials used to craft said orbs.

Upon entering the Shop, players will be able to view a list of orbs alongside their available materials. Provided the player has a sufficient amount of materials for the desired Orb (listed directly under the Orb), players simply select the “Craft” button to obtain the Orb.
NOTE: Why to Get Orbs
Although orbs require a great number of materials to craft, they greatly increase the stats of units, such as the The Hawk Orb, which significantly increases Mihawk’s stats. The significant increase in stats grants Mihawk more viability in a player’s team. Orbs are powerful – hence, it is recommended that players get them as quickly as possible.

Fire Rage Orb (used on units possessing either a low SPA or a high deployment damage to maximize overall damage)
Death Orb (combined with Kura (Darkness), it is a must-have for Infinite mode and damage farming)
Dark Spiritual Orb (though difficult to obtain, it grants Ikki (Dark) both slow and the ability to hit airs on his final upgrade, a must-have for Infinite mode)
